New York, NY (December 13, 2005)–The 7th Annual Surround Conference and Expo, produced by CMP Entertainment Media, kicks off this Thursday, December 15 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. The 4th Annual Surround Music Awards will be held at 7:00 PM the evening of the 15th, with Jackson Browne receiving the 2005 Surround Artist of the Year, and Phil Ramone presented the 2005 Surround Pioneer Award. The two-day conference includes panels such as “Surround For Film: New Approaches,” “Surround Mastering: The Video and HD Dimension,” “Surround Evolution: The Label View,” “Capturing Live Performance For Surround,” and “Surround Sound Gaming.” Surround 2005 will also incorporate some exciting presentations, such as an “All-Star Surround Music Mixers Forum,” moderated by George Massenburg with Fred Maher, Nathaniel Kunkel, Ronald Prent, Gary Lux and Elliot Scheiner as esteemed panelists, and a Surround Case Study of Elton John Reiusses. The Conference’s keynote address will be delivered on Thursday at 2:15 by Tomlinson Holman.
In addition to the panels and presentations, the Technology Expo will be brimming with new tools and toys to help you get the most out of your surround productions. The interface opportunities with the designers and distributors of the hottest surround hardware and software are unsurpassed. To cap it off, the 4th annual Surround Music Awards, a celebration and recognition of the finest surround releases of the past year, will take place Thursday evening.
