Gaylord, KS (September 19, 2005)--TAB-Funkenwerk will be exhibiting for the first time at the upcoming AES show in NYC, where they will be showing the V-78M and the V-71 DI, all-tube modern preamplifiers based on original Telefunken blueprints. TAB-Funkenwerk products are available exclusively through Mercenary Audio.

Developed by Oliver Archut, a former AEG Telefunken engineer, the rack-mountable TAB-Funkenwerk V-78M uses original "New / Old Stock" Telefunken EF-806 and EF-844 tubes, its tube circuitry, and hand wound transformers. While they moved a bit away from the classic design by using modern construction techniques like printed circuit boards, Archut reportedly received positive feedback to the V-78M's PC board design, especially from hard core believers in "point to point wiring purists." This allowed TAB-Funkenwerk to build a modern and affordable mic pre for studios on a budget while being faithful to the classic TAB "V series" sound.

TAB-Funkenwerk then added an 11 position gain control input sensitivity adjust (which some people might call an impedance selector) to give the mic pre operator greater flexibility. The result is an amplifier that is capable of a wide range of applications due to its color and harmonics. Visitors to AES NYC Booth #1139 can check out the TAB-Funkenwerk product line.
