South Windsor, CT (September 20, 2005)–Telefunken North America will be showing the new R-F-T AK47 microphone at the AES Convention in NYC, October 7-10. The R-F-T AK47 features a proprietary new circuit design based around a custom-wound BV-47 transformer, a dual-sided 6 micron gold-sputtered capsule, and an NOS Telefunken EF 732 sub-miniature tube. The R-F-T AK47 is hand assembled and tested in the company’s Connecticut headquarters.
According to Telefunken North America, the R-F-T AK47 is a large diaphragm, tube microphone that provides “an exceptionally clean, warm tone, substantial gain, extraordinary low end, and extended high frequency response.”
Utilizing rare NOS (New Old Stock) tubes, premium components manufactured in the U.S. and carefully selected elements from overseas, Telefunken North America has created a cost efficient microphone designed to address the needs of broadcasters as well as the professional, commercial, and project studio markets. The company reports that this new large diaphragm condenser microphone is a lower-cost alternative to its microphones used by producers and engineers.
The Telefunken North America R-F-T AK47 features a remote 9-polar pattern external power supply, shock mount, wooden box, frequency response plot and 5 year warranty for an MSRP of $1599.
