Telefunken USA to Unveil Ela M 260 Microphone at AES

Telefunken | USA Ela M 260South Windsor, CT (September 18, 2007)—Telefunken | USA will introduce the Ela M 260, a newly constructed version of the small-diaphragm condenser microphone first manufactured in 1959, at the 123rd Audio Engineering Society Convention, Oct. 5-8. Telefunken USA will exhibit at Booth #1108 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center.

The Ela M 260 features a NOS (New Old Stock) Telefunken EF732 tube and is packaged with a set of three interchangeable capsules (cardioid, hyper-cardioid and omni). The microphone system comes with wooden microphone box, 10-meter Gotham Audio cable, owner’s manual and 10-year warranty. Also included is an adaptor to allow the use of some AKG CK series capsules, and other capsules made for JZ/Violet and B.L.U.E. systems.

The manufacturer describes the Ela M 260 as “an exceptional sounding microphone for a wide selection of applications. The small tube microphone is especially well-suited for drum overheads and for acoustic instruments of all types.”

The new Elam M 260 is the latest in Telefunken | USA’s Professional Series of microphones ; comprised of a variety of different types of microphones ranging from small diaphragm tube condensers to ribbons, the Professional Series microphone systems are assembled in the USA.
