Burbank, CA (December 11, 2008)--This month marked two key milestones for Testronic Labs--the company's tenth anniversary as a provider of quality assurance services for DVD and Blu-ray discs, and the testing of its 1,000th Blu-ray disc SKU, a first for the optical media industry.
Testronic Labs developed some of the first test plans for Blu-ray navigation and functionality, player compatibility, audio, video and subtitle QC, and format verification. Currently, Testronic Labs is involved in testing for BD-Java and BD-Live features, as well as for new distribution platforms such as mobile devices and digital copy.
In the course of the past decade, Testronic Labs has worked with every major Hollywood studio and many independents worldwide. "Over the years, we have continually refined and enhanced our processes in order to deliver efficient, effective, and reliable results," states Testronic Labs executive vice president Seth Hallen. "Our clients benefit directly from this experience in terms of time and cost savings, and we ultimately give them the confidence they need as they bring new products to market."
The company operates test facilities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Poland. Testronic Labs New Technology facility on Empire Avenue in Burbank is home to its research and development in future digital content delivery and home entertainment technologies, such as 3D.
In addition to Blu-ray discs, Testronic Labs offers testing for interactive games, software, web applications and other media. "The emergence of BD-Live blurs the lines among video, online games and web applications," notes Hallen. "The expertise that we bring to all these various content delivery platforms is part of what makes our service offering so compelling."
