Vancouver, BC, Canada (March 10, 2006)–The Decibel Collective, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dittybase Technologies, announced the completion of two station ID music theme packages for Corus Entertainment’s premium pay-TV channels–Movie Central and Encore Avenue.
The Decibel Collective (dBc) created 14 original pieces, including music for station IDs in various lengths, movie ratings, and primetime grid themes. Each score was mixed in 5.1 Dolby Surround to provide the viewer an in-theater experience. The Movie Central creative team collaborated with dBc producers/composers, The Humble Brothers. The Humble Brothers recently achieved platinum success with their contribution to alternative rock band Linkin Park’s Reanimation remix album, and have worked with major brands such as Electronic Arts, EA Sports, Paramount, Columbia and Sony Music.
“We are very pleased with the result of our collaboration with Movie Central,” said Lance Landiak, director of original scoring and music licensing at The dBc. “Our clients are not limited to talent resources within a traditional music house. The rules of music production and distribution have evolved, and we will continue to break down those traditional barriers as we move ahead.”
“Our experience working with dBc was purely positive,” said Glenda Fermandell, director of marketing, Movie Central. “The process was collaborative, productive and resulted in a durable and flexible piece of original music that can, and will be, used in various packages. The score is distinctive and a strong complement to our refreshed branding. We are well pleased with both the final product and the service provided throughout the process.”
Movie Central is Western Canada’s 24/7 premium pay-TV service offering six channels of uncut, commercial-free entertainment. Movie Central is recognized as a major force in the Canadian independent film and television production industry.
