Hollywood, CA (July 14, 2008)– The Hollywood Edge–a sound effects library comprising more than 56,000 sounds–is now available in its entirety on hard drive.

The complete edition comes with Soundminer sound library asset management software, designed to help users manage sound collections and locate the perfect sound for any situation. The majority of the sounds, in 16 bit/44.1 kHz, were originally produced by Academy Award-winning motion picture sound studios.

“We are very excited to be able to offer this resource to the professional sound community,” said Geoffrey Rubay, general manager of the The Hollywood Edge. “The richness and variety of this collection is unsurpassed and, because the majority of these sounds were produced by Hollywood’s premier sound designers, the quality is exceptional. We have also priced it to fit the budgets of most professional studios.”

Additionally, The Hollywood Edge is readying a new release of Premiere Edition, its most popular product. Premiere Edition 8, 9, 10 will feature the lifework of sound designer Alan Howarth. Among the highlights are transportation, nature, animals, human, mechanical impacts, crowds, weapons and vocals. Pre-orders are being accepted now with product delivery set for fall 2008.

The Hollywood Edge has also introduced Sound Designer Tool Kit 2 and Title FX 2. The second installment of the Sound Designer Tool Kit series features more than 1600 new stingers, whooshes and other production elements. Themes include dark, scary, eerie, sci-fi, nature and weather. Musical instrument accents run the gamut from solo to symphonic. Title FX 2 is a collection of more than 900 unusual sounds. Sound Designer Tool Kit 2 and Title FX 2 are available for shipment now.
