Shokan, NY (August 18, 2004)–Staind recently recorded in The Great Hall at Allaire Studios, with producer David Bottrill. Brian Sperber engineered the sessions with Matt Cullen assisting. The Don Byron Trio, with special guests Jack DeJohnette and Jason Moran, also recorded an upcoming release in The Great Hall, for Blue Note Records. Don Byron and Hans Wendl produced, with Tom Lazarus engineering.
RCA artists Longwave recorded in Allaire’s Neve room, to Studer 2″ 16 track and Pro Tools HD, with producer John Leckie and engineer George Shilling engineering. At the same time, The Raveonettes tracked a new CD in the Great Hall for Sony Music with producer Richard Gottehrer and engineer Joe Blaney.
Finally, producer Craig Street returned to Allaire’s Great Hall to record and mix Nonesuch recording artist and Tony Award-winning actress Audra McDonald. McDonald worked with an imposing cast of musicians including Kevin Breit (guitar), Greg Leisz (pedal steel/dobro), Patrick Warren (keyboards) and Greg Cohen (bass). Husky Hoskulds engineered the project.
Allaire has also added a second Digidesign Pro Tools system to its arsenal. The newest rig is a Pro Tools HD 3 Accel system, running on a Power Mac G5 with 23″ Cinema Display. The system contains three Digidesign 192 I/O’s enabling 24 analog inputs and 48 outputs; two Glyph 73 Gig SCSI hot swap drives and 160 Gig external Firewire drives are also available for purchase.
