Tour Takes Flight With Soundcraft

Chichester, UK (August 20, 2007)--There aren't than many musicians who can say they've been part of both a legendary NWOBHM metal band like Iron Maiden and a poppy hitmaking outfit like Cutting Crew ('I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight'), but keyboardist/club owner/producer Tony Moore can certainly make that claim. He not just unusual for his background, however--he's also got some interesting ideas on how to tour; just take his current 'Acoustic Airwaves' tour, which will find him personally flying to 15 airfields throughout the UK and performing a gig at each--all within nine days and in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Tony Moore and all his touring gear, including his Soundcraft desk and his self-piloted Cessna. Chichester, UK (August 20, 2007)--There aren’t than many musicians who can say they’ve been part of both a legendary NWOBHM metal band like Iron Maiden and a poppy hitmaking outfit like Cutting Crew (“I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight”), but keyboardist/club owner/producer Tony Moore can certainly make that claim. He not just unusual for his background, however--he’s also got some interesting ideas on how to tour; just take his current 'Acoustic Airwaves' tour, which will find him personally flying to 15 airfields throughout the UK and performing a gig at each--all within nine days and in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Carrying all his own gear, Moore will be using a lightweight gig setup comprising a Soundcraft MFX8--one of the new Lexicon-equipped models--and JBL EON10 G2 powered speakers.

According to Moore, "I contacted my friends at Soundcraft, as we use their mixers and other Harman equipment for all our events at both The Bedford and The Regal Room. The new MFX8 mixer fit the bill perfectly; not only does it deliver the high quality audio I require, but being equipped with onboard Lexicon effects, it saves me taking additional rack gear and reduces weight--especially important for this gig!"

Moore, a newly qualified pilot, will be flying solo in a Cessna 172, equipped with only the Harman Pro gear, his acoustic guitar and keyboards, and will perform songs from his current album, Perfect & Beautiful, plus past hits in a variety of hangars, aviator bars and other various airport facilities.

All shows will be free and open to the general public. Other established artists that Moore has worked with over the years (Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson, The Storys, etc.) have also promised to make guest appearances. Audience members will be asked to make a donation to the charity on the day of the performance and, if they put their names 'in the hat', could win a Gibson acoustic guitar and a trip in Moore's Cessna.
