Dave Hill Designs’ Europa I mic preampLas Vegas, NV (January 10, 2011)–TransAudio Group has announced that it will distribute Dave Hill Designs hardware and software in the United States.
Dave Hill Designs’ current product line is comprised of the Europa I, a Class-A mic preamp, and the RA, a TDM plug-in that reportedly emulates amplifier overload to impress the luster of imperfection on sterile digital signals.
“Dave Hill is one of the most significant inventors of our day in professional audio,” said Brad Lunde, president of TransAudio Group. “He is the rare person who has had a major impact both on hardware and software. The chance to work with him is an honor and a privilege, and I am confident that, like everything else he has touched, Dave Hill Designs will be a major factor in the marketplace.” Hill designed many of Summit Audio’s early products, including the TLA-100 tube leveling amplifier, and founded Crane Song. Most recently, he was involved in the design of Avid’s Heat engine for its Pro Tools 9.
“I have known Brad Lunde for many years,” said Hill. “He is one of the most trustworthy and knowledgeable people in the business, and I am glad we will be working together to get these products into the hands of people who will appreciate them.”
