San Francisco (October 8, 2004)–Dorrough Electronics, a manufacturer of innovative Loudness Meters, has teamed up with Trinnov Audio to provide a unique demonstration of Trinnov’s digital surround microphone system with Dorrough’s surround metering solution, at the AES Convention in San Francisco, at Dorrough’s Booth 511.
Trinnov’s digital microphone technology is the result of over four years of research and product development into the process of sampling soundfields with microphone arrays processed through high order mapping. The result is a surround microphone system that behaves like a single point source with five surround channels of high order directionality (5th order) not found in traditional methods.
The microphone’s directionality characteristics are selectable in post production through 16 surround pattern presets (via intuitive graphical interface). The presets allow for changing the microphone system’s global directionality of the five-channel soundfield, while maintaining interchannel directivities derived from panning laws.
The Trinnov microphone system will be displayed with the graphic SRP controller and Dorrough’s five channel loudness monitoring system.
