San Francisco native Patti Cathcart started her public career singing in church choirs and was subsequently influenced by the blossoming San Francisco music scene associated with Bill Graham's Fillmore Auditorium. Tuck Andress, who studied classical guitar at Stanford University, was inspired by swing music, and later rock and jazz. Andress's style of guitar-playing uses his unique technique of simultaneously playing a bassline, chords, melody, and a percussive back-beat to create a sound that seems to emanate from multiple guitars.
