Old Lyme, CT (July 13, 2006)–Representing Turbosound’s introduction into the realms of the voice evacuation, paging and background music markets, the TCS-C50T 5-inch, 2-way passive ceiling speaker is now shipping. Intended for use in background sound-reinforcement applications, the TCS-C50T is based around a 5-inch bass/mid driver and a ferrofluid-cooled, neodymium, soft-dome HF tweeter with a passive crossover network, mounted onto a paintable ABS ceiling frame with a fireproof, steel-back can. The product conforms to BS5839 and IEC/EN 60849 fire-prevention standards.
Designed to be installed in all types of suspended ceilings and providing a 180-degree dispersion pattern, the TCS-C50T is supplied with a hole cutout template and a Phoenix-style, nonreversible connector to allow ceilings to be prepared and wiring to be installed and pre-terminated prior to the loudspeakers being onsite. Its integral line transformer will work with both 70- and 100-volt line distributed systems, and provides several power taps for adjusting SPL to individual zones, in addition to a low-impedance (16-ohm) setting, all accessible from a front-panel rotary selector.
