Chicksands, England (December 21, 2006)–The local government (“Council”) of the Mid Bedfordshire District recently moved into a new facility, based in Chicksands, England. The new building sports an audio system outfitted with SLS Loudspeakers.
Audiovisual and integrated technology consultant Shen Milsom & Wilke aimed to create a system that could provide sound during board meetings and special community events, but also offer little obstruction for audio visual presentations.
The architectural composition of the room posed acoustical challenges in sound deflection and distortion resulting from hard and concrete surfaces, high ceilings and large glass windows. To overcome these problems, the room was strategically equipped with two sets of three SLS LS6593S ribbon line array speakers specially geared toward control over vertical dispersion. The SLS loudspeakers were mounted on either side of the large window, achieving clear and even sound distribution.
“Since Mid Bedfordshire District Council is regarded as a governmental hub and voice within its community, it is important that it be equipped with a superior sound system that can universally support its various needs,” said John Prohs, senior associate at Shen Milsom & Wilke. “SLS Loudspeakers were the ideal fit for the room’s versatile nature, offering a unique package of affordability, flexibility and simplicity. The new loudspeakers present high-performance in its tonal quality, intelligibility and audio distribution control.”
