Ultra-Sound Bugs Out

New York, NY (March 6, 2008)--Manhattan's Ultra-Sound and Napoleon Art and Productions recently teamed-up for a series of highly stylized 15-second television spots for Florida-based Peninsular Pest Control, working with advertising and design company Martinez Communications in Jackonsville, FL.

The animated campaign was written in the style of a detective-noir story. To capture that classic detective feel, the artwork, created at Napoleon Art and Productions, used shadows to hide the identity of the victim who is reporting the pest problem to an off-camera detective. The detective then produces a file and mug shot of the perpetrating pest for the victim to identify.

The completed art was brought to life by the Napoleon Editorial department. When the picture edit was locked, the spots were handed off to Jeney Arrowood at Ultra-Sound to create the sound design. She used flash bulbs, typewriters and other era-related sound effects to enhance the Dragnet-esque original music track that was supplied by Martinez Communications. The voiceover track, which used local talent from Florida, was also supplied for the final mix to picture at Ultra-Sound.

"We were the audio hub where everything came together for the final mix. Whether in Florida or New York, everyone involved had a clear idea of what the spots needed. We were all on the same page creatively even with the distance," said Arrowood.
