Anaheim, CA (February 17, 2004)--Universal Audio announced its new UAD-1 Studio Pak Powered Plug-Ins bundle at the NAMM Show last month. The UAD-1 Studio Pak includes the proprietary high-performance UAD-1 PCI DSP card which powers a connoisseur collection of 20 Universal Audio plug-ins including the 1176LN/SE and Teletronix LA-2A vintage compressors, the Pultec EQP-1A, RealVerb Pro, Cambridge EQ, Dreamverb, Nigel guitar processor, Fairchild 670 compressor and the CS-1 Channel Strip.

The CS-1 itself includes a collection of plug-ins developed specifically for the UAD-1, including EQ, compression, delay modulation, and reflection engine modules. Nigel is also a suite of plug-ins, including the Pre-flex amp and speaker cabinet modeler, echo, delay modulation, tremelo, modulation filter, compressor/gate and phasor. As with the CS-1, these components can be used together or separately.

"The UAD-1 Studio Pak really represents the best value and most desirable UAD-1 product yet released," said Mike Barnes, director of marketing for Universal Audio Inc. "With the addition of Audio Unit plug-in format support, OSX/Panther/G5 compatibility and inclusion of the new UA Fairchild 670 compressor in v3.4, the UAD-1 has come of age as the ultimate upgrade for digital audio workstations whether you're on Mac or PC."

Matt Ward, president of Universal Audio, commented enthusiastically on the return of the UAD-1 to UA for distribution in 2004 and provided assurance of yet more evolution and a strong future for the UAD-1. Ward explained, "With UA now once again in the dual role as developer and distributor, we are committed to a basic 3 point strategy of: 1. offering a truly revolutionary product at a mass-market price, 2. providing comprehensive support and friendly online and phone service to users and dealers alike, and 3. respecting our heritage of audio innovation by listening to user feedback, offering regular upgrades and developing the most extensive collection of what we consider to be the best-sounding plug-ins in the business."

The UAD-1 Studio Pak supports VST, AU, DX & MAS plug-in formats and is now available at Authorized Universal Audio Dealers worldwide for a MSRP of $1,199.
