Los Angeles, CA (March 3, 2010)–Vintage King Audio has added engineer, producer and audio journalist Alex Oana to the Los Angeles branch of its sales staff.
He will join professional engineer Jeff Ehrenberg, who has served as Vintage King’s primary L.A. representative for the past seven years. Oana, known for his work with a variety of indie and major label artists, brings more than 20 years of experience to the Vintage King team.
“Selling pro audio gear for the world’s top dealer is an extension of what I’ve been doing for 20 years,” says Oana. “I get to geek out on gear all day long and help people make choices about equipment that will shape the very nature of their recordings. Guiding a purchase is not unlike producing a record: It’s about being a good listener. And when I offer my opinion, I’m putting my reputation on the line just like when I’m mixing a record–a privilege I take very personally and seriously. And it’s fun!”
A longtime contributor to the Minneapolis/St. Paul music community, Oana relocated to Los Angeles in 2004 and has since produced, engineered, mixed and mastered records, mixed world tours and national television spots, sound-designed films and segued into the world of journalism as a writer/editor for Pro Audio Review.
