Las Vegas, NV (April 18, 2005)–VisioneeringConnect, a division Los Angeles-based turnkey systems integration company Visioneering Design, is introducing two new products at NAB this week–the VDC-448D Patchbay and the AES3ID8 8-Channel Digital Interface.
The VDC-448D Digital Patchbay provides a simple interface for digital audio devices which employ 8 channels of AES I/O on a single D-25 connector, such as Euphonix, Digidesign Pro Tools HD, Mackie and others. The 4 row patchbay normals two devices to each other’s respective inputs/outputs with a single 8 pair AES cable, and includes D-25 connectors on both ends between the gear and the patchbay. No splitting or joining of cables and no bulky breakout cables are required. Audio Accessories nickel-plated TT jacks are arranged 48 across on a 3 RU chassis. The VDC-448D Patchbay comes complete with 24, 10′ long cables (custom lengths available) for less than $3,800.
The AES3ID8 8-Channel Digital Interface is designed for the broadcast market where many devices utilize the 75 ohm AES-ID format for digital audio. Facilities typically use a 75 ohm “video” patchbay for interfacing the digital audio signals. The AES3ID8 interfaces the many devices that employ 8 pairs of 110 ohm, AES-3, audio signals on a single D-25 connector. Previous solutions usually called for installing eight expensive baluns on a costly breakout cable in a bundle in the back of the rack. The AES3ID8 is a 1RU rack mount unit with 8 BNC connectors mating with a D-25 connector. Visioneering uses the highest quality transformers available, and meets 192K specs. The $295 price includes a 3′ D-25 to D-25 interface cable.
