Denver, CO (December 21, 2004)–Ando Media has announced the release of the Webcast Metrics Top 20 for the month of November 2004, the second public monthly ranker release. Using actual listener data gathered directly from webcasters’ media servers, the Webcast Metrics audience measurement platform reports audience figures accurately and without the need for the diary-based estimates that are common in terrestrial radio.
More than two hundred stations were added to the Webcast Metrics platform in the month of November. DI.fm held onto the first spot with an average quarter hour (AQH) of 18,481 listeners. AccuRadio.com retained its number two position with an AQH of 10,033.
“Internet broadcasters are realizing the value of real data in audience measurement,” noted Jordan Mendell, Ando Media founder and creator of the Webcast Metrics technology. “Internet radio has a huge daytime audience, and these numbers are just what the industry needs to quantify that to advertisers.”
Webcast Metrics has begun audience measurement for Chaincast Networks, which held the number one spot on the Measurecast network ranker prior to Arbitron’s abandonment of that Internet radio measurement service last April. For January, Ando Media plans to add CDN/Broadcast Network audience measurement to the monthly Webcast Metrics ranker.
Webcast Metrics measures Internet radio audience using industry-standard metrics such as AQH, cume (the number of unique persons–as defined by unique IP addresses–who listened to a station for a minimum of five minutes within a reported time period), average time spent listening (ATL), and total listener hours (TLH). Webcast Metrics subscribers have detailed access to their stations’ audience data with monthly, weekly, daily and hourly reports.
