New York, NY (January 26, 2007)–Award-winning composer Wendell Hanes’ latest project as producer of rap group TNT lands him on a familiar place–ESPN. Beginning January 18, TNT’s “Hustle Harder” will be heard on ESPN’s Thursday Throwdown. The song will air for the next three months during the Halftime Show.
Hanes’ music is a staple in television spots and promos, ranging from the very popular Heineken “Birth of Scratch” ad (which earned Hanes a Silver Lion at Cannes) to last year’s memorable Mountain Dew ad featuring And 1’s “Hot Sauce.”
For ESPN, Wendell has composed theme music for its NHL, NFL, NBA, Women’s College Basketball, Soccer, and X Games programming, as well as the 2007 theme for ESPN Classic. In addition to ESPN, Hanes’ music can currently be heard on VH-1’s Dreamgirls movie promo, Lifetime Television and America’s Top Model. The theme music for next month’s SAG Awards will also be a Hanes composition.
TNT (Top Notch Teamsters), who hail from the nation’s capitol, have also had their music featured on the network’s morning show, Cold Pizza. Hanes and Daoud Baptiste are the owners of TNT’s label, Baby J Entertainment.
