Burlington, Ontario (November 13, 2003)–Producer Justin Koop recently opened Westside-Records, a new recording studio in London, Ontario. Under the management of Ryan Izzard, founder of www.PunkHardcore.com, Westside-Records is a digital multitrack studio offering recording services as well as multimedia design and production.
Sharing similar musical backgrounds and the same goals for the future of digital media, it was only natural that Koop and Izzard come together to focus efforts on Westside-Records. Koop has spent much of the last decade as the house engineer at Burlington, Ontario’s Music Gym practice and recording studio, working with various artists including Grade, Somehow Hollow, Silverstein, BurnThe8Track, Billy Talent, and many more. Now in his own personal studio, built to his specifications around a Digidesign Pro Tools Mix Plus system and loads of outboard gear and plug-ins, Koop is primed and ready to even exceed the high expectations artists and record labels have come to expect from him.
Studio manger Ryan Izzard has an extensive background in independent music, having spent the last 10 years building and expanding the popular alternative music website, PunkHardcore.com. Izzard has also spent the last five years as the lead independent music business instructor at the premier independent music school, Power Chord Academy. He studied at Fanshawe College’s Music Industry Arts program under famed producer Jack Richardson and worked as owner of New Edge Design Media.
By combining all the elements of any musical project under one roof, such as digital recording, editing, photography, film, web site design, CD/DVD Rom development, 3D Animation and more, Westside-Records is a one stop shop for every independent artist’s needs. The studio is housed in a comfortable, creative environment focused on the individuality of each client and the success of their project. Westside-Records’ first development project is for the band Bloodlust Revenge.
