Las Vegas (March 16, 2006)–With a roster of seminars sure to enhance the operation and performance of lighting, audio and video systems in houses of worship, the NSCA and the Fellowship for Technical Ministries have joined forces to present the 2006 Expo House of Worship Program, starting today and going through March 18.
For those seeking to replace an ailing audio system for their congregation, integrate visual displays to help share their message, or build impact with a theatre environment, the House of Worship Pavilion at the NSCA Systems Integration Expo will be a showcase for technologies and training as well as a central hub for networking among designers, installers and HOW customers.
The NSCA Systems Integration Expo is attended by many of those involved in the largest and most sophisticated church projects. With many NSCA members now giving precedence to house of worship projects, the NSCA and the Fellowship for Technical Ministries have expanded activities within the House of Worship Pavilion to meet the growing needs of house of worship technical professionals.
“It’s an opportunity for electronic systems industry members and the customers they serve to get better acquainted for the mutual benefit of each,” explained Greg Silsby, executive director of the Fellowship of Technical Ministries. “Church technical directors and media technicians represent the single largest market segment within the installed sound and AV businesses in the U.S., so it’s very important that integrators and manufacturers get to know those customers better. Additionally, those customers are very hungry for information about products and how to use them effectively.”
In addition to manufacturer-led educational sessions offered throughout the show at the House of Worship Pavilion, some of the best and brightest technical directors from the nation’s largest houses of worship will lead several workshops and seminars. Among these offerings will be a course on transitioning church television facilities to digital, growing a technical team, and directing the capture of live events on video. Other courses on the schedule will address lighting design, developing consistency in audio performance, and the planning and implementation of multi-site worship venues.
For those church professionals who attend the show, a $50 entry fee provides a badge for unlimited access to the 450-plus exhibitors at the NSCA Systems Integration Expo and entrance to any or all of the courses and special events that make up the House of Worship program. The Fellowship of Technical Ministries will also sponsor an interdenominational Christian Worship & Praise event open to all Expo participants and attendees on Saturday, March 18 from 8:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Founding sponsors of the Fellowship of Technical Ministries include Allen & Heath, Audio-Techinica, Audix, Church Production, Christian Sound & Song, DiGiCo, EAW, Inter-M, FSR, Mackie, QSC, Rane, Shure, SLS and Technologies for Worship.
