Q: What is your new position, and what does it entail?
A: I am the president of the TV Solutions group of the Telos alliance and am responsible for both Linear acoustic and minnetonka audio product lines, focused on creating solutions for TV broadcast customers.
Q: How has your background prepared you for your new role?
A: I started minnetonka audio 25 years ago and grew the company into a leading broadcast technology software provider, ranging from Dolby plug-ins for workstations, to enterprise file-based processing, to cloud-based audio processing platforms.
Q: What new marketing initiatives are we likely to see from the company?
A: We aim to be the leader of the transition to AoIP in TV broadcast. The TV Solutions group brings together the considerable experience and expertise in television audio and audio over IP that exists within the Telos alliance. The aeS67 AoIP standard, for example, is a key strategic focus for the new group, and the Telos alliance is already a proud member of AIMS (the alliance for IP media Solutions), a non-profit trade alliance that promotes interoperability and the adoption of the AoIP standards.
Q: What are your short- and long-term goals?
A: The TV Solutions group will focus on customer requirements and systems to meet those requirements, utilizing file-based, real-time and complementary products from the full Telos alliance product mix. We will assist broadcasters in meeting the challenges they face in the transition from baseband to IP interconnection in every aspect of production and broadcast workflow.
Q: What is the greatest challenge that you face?
A: We have a unique opportunity and challenge to do something special: bridge two companies that serve a similar customer base into one overall solutions provider. Having access to the full range of Telos alliance products is a big win for our new group and an even bigger win for our customers.
