Q: What is your new position, and what does it entail?
A: I am the director of Sales and Marketing for Dawn Pro Audio. People may remember Dawn from the ’80s and ’90s, but it has been dormant for several years. Because Dawn is basically starting over from scratch, my business card could certainly read more than just Sales and Marketing. I am involved in most aspects of the brand, from product development, all marketing and developing the sales network.
Q: How has your background prepared you for your new role?
A: I have been fortunate to be a part of some very successful organizations and well-‐known brands in our industry. I think the biggest advantage I have from that experience is having seen what a successful end-‐result looks like. I have a good idea of what works with the sales function, and have seen both good and bad from my years in the industry. We might have some stumbles, but my experience should minimize any missteps.
Q: What new marketing initiatives are we likely to see from the company?
A: Considering we’ve only recently brought the Dawn brand back, pretty much everything is a new initiative! Our initial line, the portable T-‐Series speakers, has only been out a few months, and we’re just now introducing a new model in that line, with Bluetooth input. We also have an exciting new technology in loudspeaker design coming later in the year and our primary focus will be on telling that story and getting it in front of the customer.
Q: What are your short- and long-term goals?
A: The short term goal is simple. I’m focused on building the distribution network for Dawn Pro Audio while also building the end-user recognition of the brand. Long-term will almost always require brand building, but we are also looking for the best way to grow our team to help support the sales goals we have in place.
Q: What is the greatest challenge that you face?
A: Without a doubt, my greatest challenge is making Dawn Pro Audio a recognized brand in the industry. There are some great competitors in the speaker category that have been doing it a long time, and we are very new. My personal experience has typically been with very well‐known brands, so it has been interesting seeing the other side! I believe strongly in the Dawn Pro Audio products, and am having a great time spreading the word.
