Burlington, MA (February 11, 2015)—Grammy Awards were presented at this year’s ceremony to numerous artists, producers and engineers that used Avid’s MediaCentral Platform and Artist Suite creative tools for music production.
Avid audio professionals created Grammy Award winners including Album of the Year Morning Phase by Beck, and Record of the Year and Song of the Year “Stay With Me (Darkchild Version)” by Sam Smith.
As bass player on Album of the Year and Best Rock Album Morning Phase by Beck, and producer of Best Rock Song “Ain’t It Fun” by Paramore, Justin Meldal Johnsen celebrated a successful night. “It feels really good to produce a record that gets recognized with a Grammy, but the real honor belongs to Paramore themselves,” he said. “They came at this album as underdogs, but they knew what they wanted and got there with pure intention, hard work, and solid integrity. We used Pro Tools for everything from demos to mixing on this record and it really paid off – the whole process was as smooth as silk.”
Other Grammy Award-winning projects by artists, producers and engineers who use Avid solutions in their studios included Best Pop Solo Performance “Happy (Live)” by Pharrell Williams, Best Pop Vocal Album In the Lonely Hour by Sam Smith, Best Rock Performance Lazaretto by Jack White and Best Urban Contemporary Album Girl by Pharrell Williams.
“We’re honored that the music industry’s most talented professionals have embraced Avid Everywhere and our industry-leading audio solutions to bring the world’s greatest music to life,” said Avid chairman, president and chief executive officer, Louis Hernandez, Jr. “We congratulate all our GRAMMY Award-winning and nominated customers and look forward to providing them—and the next generation of music professionals—with proven and trusted solutions to support their success in the years to come.”
