The Best of Show Awards Special Edition Program guide will list all participating companies and products.

New York, NY (May 14, 2020)—Pro Sound News announced winners of the “Best of Show Special Edition” Awards. They are:

Allen & Heath AHM-64 96kHz Audio Matrix Processor

Audio Design Desk: AI-Assisted Sound Design DAW

Q5X QT-AD10 Axient Digital PlayerMic

Best of Show Special EditionThe Best of Show Special Edition of the program was created this year in the absence of a physical spring NAB Show. The program honors and helps promote outstanding new, recently introduced and pending products and services.

“Our thanks to the many companies that participated in this year’s program under such unusual circumstances,” said Paul McLane, managing director of content in Future’s B2B media technology group. “It’s clear from the nominations that despite the current health crisis, technology innovation remains strong in our industry.”

Winners are selected by panels of professional users and magazine and site editors. Companies pay a fee to participate; not all entries are chosen. Winners and nominees will be featured in a Program Guide to be distributed shortly to 95,000 broadcast and media readers across Future’s media brands.

For insight into the winning products, here are brief product descriptions direct from the manufacturers; they have not been edited.

Through a collaboration between Shure and Q5X, the wireless audio transmitter form-factors adopted by professional sports for their safety and ruggedness are now available on Shure’s advanced Axient Digital transmission technology platform. In May 2020, Shure and Q5X will unveil a new generation of Q5X PlayerMic compatible with Shure’s Axient Digital receivers.  The QT-AD10 Digital PlayerMic is totally remote controlled utilizing Q5X’s RCAS (Remote Control Audio System). This Digital PlayerMic is the result of 18 months of joint development between Q5X and Shure to combine the strengths of both companies, uniting the dominance of Q5X in customer driven transmitter design and Shure’s Axient Digital wireless capabilities. The result matches the long-requested technical requirements of the NBA, NFL and other major sports organizations for encryption and increased channel density for wireless microphones. This unique combination was successfully used during the NBA All-Star Game Feb 16, 2020 in Chicago.
