Manchester, TN (April 18, 2014)—Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) recently announced a long-term partnership to bring RBMA Bass Camp and an after-hours RBMA Stage to the festival grounds through 2018. As part of the partnership, Red Bull Music Academy will create a special village for the Bass Camp, which will be outfitted with permanent recording studios and living spaces for participants.
“Bonnaroo is always looking to construct innovative cultural experiences. By bringing on Red Bull Music Academy as a long-term partner, we are able to create a space for creativity and collaboration between artists. Having the RBMA Bass Camp on site, as well as the curated late night stage, enhances the overall festival experience for both artists and attendees,” said Richard Goodstone, a partner at Superfly and Bonnaroo.
RBMA Bass Camp is part of the Red Bull Music Academy workshop and festival series that travels the globe annually offering artists a haven to create, collaborate and celebrate music. By day, the RBMA Bass Camp at Bonnaroo invites 20 handpicked artists to participate in daily workshops and hear lectures from prominent members of the music community discussing their experiences and process. Specially designed recordings studios, built by The Bunkie Co, offer Bass Camp participants the opportunity to record new music throughout Bonnaroo weekend, giving them a chance to collaborate with and get advice from top past RBMA lecturers.
Late night, the Sonic Stage will transform into the Red Bull Music Academy stage where festival goers will be treated to performances featuring RBMA Bass Camp participants playing alongside prominent festival artists.
