New York, NY (May 29, 2012)—Producer and engineer Ken Caillat will be speaking and signing his book, Making Rumours, in New York and New Jersey in early June.
Making Rumours is engineer/co-producer Ken Caillat's detailed account of his experiences recording Fleetwood Mac's iconic, Grammy-winning 1977 album Rumours. Packed with scores of never-before-published photos from Caillat's personal collection, Making Rumours is aimed at Fleetwood Mac fans, rock history buffs and readers who love a behind-the-scenes account of great musicians at work and play.
The book is described as the story of a group of music visionaries alternately bonding and flying apart. It's an amalgam of romance, divorces, betrayals and artistic frisson in the 1970s--an era of jaw-dropping excess and indulgence, where a band locked in a recording studio 10 hours a day for a year delivered an album that became one of the most praised and successful in music history, selling over 40 million copies.
Caillat won the 1978 Grammy for Album of the Year for Rumours and also produced the group's Tusk, Mirage and live albums, as well as its box set, The Chain. He has also worked on albums with everyone from George Carlin to the London Symphony Orchestra. He is the father of Grammy-winning singer Colbie Caillat, and produced her number-one album, Breakthrough.
Caillat will be speaking about the book and the album, and giving his firsthand account on working with the band and writing the book, at the following locations:
