Frankfurt, Germany (April 20, 2015)—Big changes are coming for the Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound trade shows in 2016. The co-located events just ended their 2015 editions on Saturday night at the Frankfurt Show and Exhibition Center; together they featured 2,257 exhibitors, who were visited by more than 108,000 visitors from 146 countries during the course of four days.

Next year, the two shows’ dates will only be held partially concurrently—the next Prolight + Sound will be held from April 5-8, 2016, while the next Musikmesse will take place from April 7-10, 2016.

Additionally, PL+S will move to larger quarters, taking over the eastern section of Frankfurt Show and Exhibition Center next year to occupy Halls 1, 3, 4 and 5, as well as the Congress Center and outdoor exhibition areas.

This year, Musikmesse had two days that were open to the public; that effort will expand next year as the MI-oriented show will open “music- style specific exhibition halls” to the public on all days. At the same time, there will be an exclusive business hall open to trade visitors only, which will give them and exhibitors more room and contact space for business discussions.
