Chanhassen, MN (July 11, 2017)—Digital Audio Labs—developer of studio products including the CardD, CardDeluxe and V8—has acquired LaChapell Audio, builders of tube microphone preamps and 500 series modules. Notably, LaChapell is the pro audio industry’s first company to release a 500 series tube preamp.
“I’ve known Scott and Mark LaChapell for decades,” says Andy Swanson, Director of Marketing for Digital Audio Labs. “And there are very few preamps on the market that give you the range of sonic possibilities that their gear does. With the dual drive stages, you can dial in clean and transparent, or a sound rich with second order harmonics. There is nothing more versatile out there.”
Having built up stock of LaChapell products such as the 992 (pictured), 983 and 583S MK2 models, Digital Audio Labs states that it is “committed to keeping the quality, sound signatures, and pricing the same” as when under the LaChapell Audio banner. The company has brought on Scott LaChapell to oversee production, new model development and to keep in touch with dealers and customers.
Digital Audio Labs has over 25 years of experience in digital audio, amplification, digital signal processing and audio equipment manufacturing. Based in Chanhassen, Minnesota, Digital Audio Labs is known for its CardD and CardDeluxe audio cards. In addition to Livemix and now LaChapell Audio, Digital Audio Labs is a design and manufacturing OEM partner for a variety of pro audio companies.
