Copenhagen, Denmark (March 24, 2015)—Discovery Networks Denmark, Copenhagen, has undergone a major upgrade of its studios, including adding a Harman Studer Vista 5 M3 with 42 faders.
The facility’s control rooms and equipment were upgraded to meet the requirements for larger and more demanding sports productions, while also using the opportunity to rebuild the physical environment as well. As most of the equipment had to be replaced, the overall decision was taken to use a hybrid video router that should be connected via MADI to the audio infrastructure as well as the intercom system.
After initial meetings with Studer’s Danish distributor, Danmon Group, a layout of the console was chosen and it turned out to be very straightforward as all connections are purely via MADI. Two cables attach the Studer SCore Live to the video hybrid router and two cables are connected to a Studer Compact Stagebox.
“The Compact Stageboxes with 32 Mic/Line inputs and 16 Line outputs are more than adequate for our needs in the two studios,” explained technician Karsten Nielsen. “Most of our audio connections are done via the hybrid router, so the Stageboxes in the studios are widely used for special needs including the wireless microphones. Should extra in/outputs be needed we still have the opportunity to populate the two modular D21m slots in each Stagebox with the right type of interfaces.”
