Las Vegas, NV (April 6, 2012)—The DTV Audio Group will meet during the NAB Show at the Alexis Park Hotel in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 15th, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. through 5:30 p.m. for the event, “Chaos, Complexity, and CALM.”
Representatives from broadcast organizations and pro audio equipment manufacturers will discuss a variety of topics focusing on the delivery of 5.1-channel audio in compliance with recently passed legislation and to multiple platforms. Scheduled participants include Fred Aldous, Fox Sports; Tim Carroll, Linear Acoustic; Roger Charlesworth, executive director, DTVAG; Kevin Cleary ESPN; Bob Dixon, NBC Olympics Unit; Richard Friedel, Fox Networks; Dave Higgins, Comcast; Ken Hunold, Dolby Laboratories; Bruce Jacobs, TCPT; Michael Nunan, CTV; Jerry Parkins, Comcast; Sean Richardson, Starz Entertainment; Jeffrey Riedmiller, Dolby Laboratories; and Tom Sahara, Turner Sports and chairman, DTVAG.
Issues scheduled for discussion include CALM Act compliance and the implementation of ATSC A/85; video descriptive services and the practical challenges of the 21st Century Video and Communications Accessibility Act; strategies for multi-platform content delivery; and techniques and technology enabling the delivery of full-time 5.1 audio for all types of programming.
