New York, NY (July 7, 2016)—Cumberland, RI-based InMusic Brands will purchase Rane Corporation this summer. InMusic is the parent company of various pro audio and DJ-related brands, including Alesis, Denon, Alto Professional, M-Audio, Akai, Marantz, Numark and others.
Rane’s co-founders, Linda Arink and Dennis Bohn, plan to step down and retire following completion of the sale. Run with a foot in both the DJ world and contracting and installation market, the privately held company was founded in 1981, and has long been turned to for room-combining, paging and associated systems.
In the wake of the sale, some company functions will move elsewhere, but some operations will continue out of the company’s Mukilteo, WA headquarters.
Ms. Arink noted in a statement that with the added resources, engineering talent, and additional IP available internally from InMusic, that company was an appropriate buyer for Rane Corporation and will help it grow now and in the future.
