Over the years, I’ve used just about every piece of Lexicon hardware there is; they’ve always worked well. I also loved the Lexiverb software for Pro Tools TDM, regrettably orphaned during the Pro Tools transition from Nubus to PCI. Since then, I simply lost track of what’s current from Lexicon. After recently installing the LXP Native Reverb Bundle in my rig, I’m glad to be back.

The LXP Native Reverb Bundle ($399) features four plug-ins: Chamber (LXPChamber), Hall (LXPHall), Plate (LXPPlate) and Room (LXPRoom). Authorization is via iLok License, and it is both Mac- and PC-compatible.

The LXP interface is clean, elegant and very simple to use. The software is loaded via your DAW either as Plate, Chamber, Hall or Room. Once the desired type of reverb is chosen, the Category Selector at the top offers up categories for the selected algorithm (such as Small, Medium and Large Plates) and the Preset Selector reflects that chosen category. I appreciate the thoughtful design that makes it easy to dial up great sounds, and the included presets are also quite good (it’s nice that there are not that many of them!).

One of the great things about this plug-in is you can either go shallow or deep with it. I like that it includes an Echoes page, where you can choose from Eko Time Master (percentage); Eko Feedback Master (percentage); L Eko Dly (0.00 to 2.00 seconds); L Eko Feedback; then R Eko Dly and R Eko Feedback. Also, below each Eko Feedback knob is an Inverted button (or Normal), so you can invert the Eko feedback. I do wish it included a tempo map/BPM sync in this section—hopefully, that will appear in a future update.

With the Lexicon Native Reverb Bundle, It’s like having a modern version of an old, trusted friend. As mentioned, I truly am glad to be back in the Lexicon camp.
