Chicago, IL (September 19, 2012)—Harman Soundcraft will make a stop in Chicago on October 16 for its seminar “Mixing with Professionals,” which offers tips and tricks about using the company’s Vi Series consoles. Ken Newman, front of house engineer for Barry Manilow and owner of Newman Audio, will host the seminar.
Newman will give “Mixing with Professionals” attendees formal training with plenty of hands-on time with Vi Series consoles in a classroom atmosphere. Participants bring a USB stick to save settings and take them on the road for future gigs, or continue working on the settings using the Soundcraft Virtual Vi offline editor, which is available free on the Soundcraft website.
“I’ve had years of experience working with Soundcraft consoles,” said Newman, “I look forward to showing attendees how to configure and mix a show using the Vi Series. During a Manilow show, it’s a very active mix and the features and ergonomics of the Vi Series offer ready access to everything—there’s nothing to slow me down or get in my way.”
The MwP sessions will be held on October 16 at Sound Marketing, 10073 S 76th Avenue, Bridgeview, Illinois, 60455. There are two time slots available: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. The course is free to attend but registration is required and space is limited. Details are available at usa.soundcraft.com and participants can register via e-mail at Soundcraftfirstname.lastname@example.org.
