Nashville, TN (May 7, 2013)—Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and the Nashville Section of the Audio Engineering Society have named the week of May 12 to 18 as “Nashville Audio Engineer Week.” This celebration of Nashville’s audio engineers will coincide with the Nashville Recording Workshop+Expo and the AudioMasters Benefit Golf Tournament, scheduled the same week.
In recognizing the audio engineering community's commitment and involvement in building the identity of “Music City,” participants will celebrate with the continued growth of two annual events attended by AES members and other audio professionals from around the country. Mayor Dean will be on-hand on the first day of the Nashville Recording Workshop + Expo, May 14.
Nashville will again play host to attendees of two major professional audio industry events, which formally kicks-of May 14th and 15th with the 4th Annual Nashville Recording Workshop +Expo. This annual event features practical presentations, workshops, and exhibits of pro audio equipment, and is designed for engineers working in home studios and top recording facilities. This is followed by the 16th Annual AudioMasters Benefit Golf Tournament on May 16th and 17th, which draws industry professionals and pro audio industry support each year for this much anticipated time among Nashville’s finest audio pros.
In response to the announcement of Nashville Audio Engineer Week, Audio Engineer Society Nashville Section Chairman Glenn Meadows stated, “We are honored to have the city of Nashville recognize the role that the professional audio engineers continue to play in our everyday lives, especially here in Music City, USA. The Audio Engineering Society has long been the driving force behind many of the innovations that help the music industry to thrive. We are excited to host our Nashville Recording Workshop + Expo and Audio Masters Benefit Golf Tournament events, as we celebrate the first annual Nashville Audio Engineer Week.”
