New Jersey (May 10, 2013)—Orbital Sound, the UK-based sound and communication system provider for the broadcast, theater, event and entertainment markets, has appointed Morag MacPherson to Vice President of its United States office.
“Orbital Sound has a 20 year history of excellence in the international audio rental industry,” MacPhearson told Pro Sound News. ” I am truly excited to introduce my friends and colleagues in the US theatrical community to Orbital’s superior customer service and dedication.”
Orbital Sound opened its U.S. office late last year, and since then, has been busy finalizing its infrastructure and operations while also starting up two musical tours within the U.S., Dreamgirls and Hair.
In her new position, MacPherson will work closely with International Managing Director Chris Headlam to help position the company into the U.S. market. She brings with her a background in theatrical business, specifically road management. She has worked as Director of Programming for Broadway Across America; Director of Professional and International Licencing for Theatrical Rights Worldwide; and Director of Industry Relations at Masque Sound.
“Morag is extremely well-versed in all things audio, as well as commanding immense respect within theatre production, and she will be a great hands-on ambassador for Orbital,” said Headlam. “Morag has literally grown up in the business, mentored by her father, the late and highly respected theatrical manager and producer George MacPherson. We are hugely excited to bring her into our team at such an early stage in our development; she is going to play a vital role in helping us achieve our ambition to become a key supplier in the theatre sound industry.”
