Point Source Audio Spins Off Wider Pro

PSA builds new distribution arm for Digigram and AuviTran.

Petaluma, CA (March 13, 2019)—In addition to manufacturing microphones, Point Source Audio has long handled North American distribution of brands such as Digigram and AuviTran. Now PSA has formed Wider Pro, LLC, a new company that will represent those lines to the broadcast industry.

Point Source Audio will continue to represent its own products to all markets, including the broadcast sector, but moving the brands is something of a necessity, Point Source president James Lamb explained: “I have worked with the teams at both Digigram and AuviTran for almost two decades, and with the pending announcements of new products from both companies, we will be equipped to move into the next phase of growth under the Wider Pro company.”

Wider Pro, LLC will be based in Petaluma, CA, with Lamb and Yvonne Ho, vice president of sales and marketing at Point Source Audio, acting as its principals. Digigram, based in France, develops digital encoding and streaming links, and manufactures sound cards, audio processing software and IP audio codecs. Meanwhile, AuviTran, also in France, manufactures broadcast products such as the Audio ToolBox, a system intended to simplify IP networking when dealing with multiple protocols.

“Taking care of our customers will always be our first priority, and so we have been and will continue to add highly customer-service minded sales and marketing members to both the Point Source and Wider companies,” said Ho. The principals equally stress that this pivotal change is intended to accelerate new products to market while maintaining hyper focus on customer service and support for all the brands.
