Lenoir, NC—A producer, engineer, artist, musician, distributor/dealer and of course as a sales professional with three decades in the pro audio business, Glen Franklin Heffner passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 8, 2016, at his home in Lenoir, North Carolina. Over the years, Heffner worked for Alesis, Avant and Avantone Electronics, and was most recently global director of Sales and Marketing at Vanguard Audio Labs.

Born in Kittery, Maine and the son of a United States Marine, Heffner moved to North Carolina as a young man after his father’s untimely death. Heffner was a very active lifelong musician, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Piano Performance from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 1977, performing locally, regionally and internationally in a variety of musical acts over the years. He also co-owned Fantasy Music, a popular music store in Granite Falls, NC, where he taught piano lessons and recorded many bands in his studio.

He is survived by his high-school sweetheart, Kathy Heffner, two sons, Sean and Seth, grandsons and extended family.

“I've worked with Glen many times over the years and he was always such a gentleman,” comments PSN review contributor Rob Tavaglione. “He genuinely wanted to know how I was, always warmly chatty. He brought an almost-childlike enthusiasm to his work and had an infectious passion for music, pro audio, the gear and the people. He and his energy will be sorely missed and I hope to keep the sound of his friendly Southern-tone and chesty laugh in my head for a long time to come.”
