Walnut Creek, CA (November 15, 2012)—The TEC Foundation for Excellence in Audio has announced the nominees for Interactive Entertainment Sound Production, one of 28 categories for Outstanding Technical and Creative Achievement. The 28th Annual TEC Awards will be held in Anaheim, CA, on Friday, January 25, 2013.
The TEC Award for Interactive Entertainment Sound Production recognizes the audio directors, sound designers, re-recording mixers, audio programmers, sound and music integrators and audio post-production facilities behind the year’s most outstanding interactive game releases. Nominations were made by a select panel of game audio professionals who chose among a variety of interactive game projects introduced during the eligibility year of September 1, 2011 to August 31, 2012.
The nominees for Interactive Entertainment Sound Production are:
Forza Motorsport 4, Microsoft Studios
Journey, Sony Computer Entertainment
Mass Effect 3, Electronic Arts
Max Payne 3, Rockstar Games
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Sony Computer Entertainment
Online voting will begin on December 3rd among members of industry organizations including the Producers & Engineers Wing of the Recording Academy, NAMM, G.A.N.G. (Game Audio Network Guild) and qualified professionals subscribing to audio and music trade publications including Mix, Pro Sound News and Pro Audio Review.
Awards will be presented at the 2013 NAMM Show, along with the presentation of the Les Paul Award to renowned recording artist and composer Pete Townshend and the induction of Record Plant President Rose Mann Cherney to the TEC Awards Hall of Fame.
