Universal City, CA (January 11, 012)—Dave Beanes has been named executive vice president and general manager of Universal Operations Group.
According to a joint statement released by Universal Studios president and COO, Ron Meyer, and NBCUniversal president, operations and technical services, John Wallace, “In his new role, effectively immediately, Dave will have responsibility for studio operations, including production and post production facilities, and ancillary production support departments. In addition, he will oversee and manage the company’s real estate of over two million square ft. of office and production support space within Universal’s 392 acres. He jointly reports to both of us.”
“For nearly two decades, Dave has been a valuable resource to NBCUniversal and has built extensive relationships inside and outside our company. His extensive production background provides the needed expertise to serve as general manager of one of the largest working studios in the world.”
“Prior to this new position, recently vacated by Jim Watters last month, Dave served as senior vice president of production services, Universal Operations Group since May 2001 and had been vice president of production services, Universal Operations Group, since January 2000. Before joining the Universal Operations Group, Dave served as vice president television production for Universal Television from 1995-97 and vice president television production, Studios USA Television from 1997-99. Beanes began his career in 1970 at KABC Television where he received an Emmy for producing the acclaimed Michael Jackson Show.”
