VKA Lands Unusual Award

Nashville, TN (July 17, 2015)—If a pro audio dealer wins an award, usually it’s a top sales award, but earlier this month, the National Association of Music Merchants honored Vintage King Audio at Summer NAMM for something entirely different. Holding VKA up as an example for other retailers to learn from, Summer NAMM awarded the dealer with Best Store Design.

The award was presented by CMT radio and TV host Cody Alan to Tom Menrath, director of strategic development at Vintage King. "We put a tremendous amount of thought and passion into both of our stores. In addition to being named one of NAMM's Top 100 Dealers, we're honored that we've been recognized this year with the award for Best Store Design," commented Menrath.

Vintage King has two retail locations, one in Los Angeles and one in Nashville. Vintage King Nashville previously received the 2014 TEC Award for outstanding creative achievement in the Studio Design Project category for its MixRoom, designed by Carl Tatz.

The NAMM Top 100 music musical instrument and product retailers designation recognizes:

A demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service
Proven community advocacy and support for music education
An exemplary retail experience worth returning for and recommending to others
Merchandising and marketing tactics that encourage repeat sales
Sound planning for future success, employing marketing and training initiatives
Engaging and effective use of web and social media

Businesses vying for Top 100 status are evaluated for a sound business model, resourceful approaches, and effective implementation of best practices. A panel of independent judges scores each entry to determine the Top 100.

"The music retailers honored with NAMM's Top 100 Dealer status are those working hard to create positive musical experiences for everyone from those just learning to experienced musicians," said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM. "Vintage King is an important ambassador for making music in Nashville and Los Angeles, and exemplifies the passion for making music that unites us all."
