Yamaha To Acquire Line 6

Late Friday, Line 6 announced it has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Yamaha Corporation. Line 6 will become a wholly owned subsidiary, operating as before, and its management team will remain in place. Yamaha will acquire all capital stock of Line 6 owned by the founders, venture funds and employees.

Calabasas, CA (December 23, 2013)—Late Friday, Line 6 announced it has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Yamaha Corporation. Line 6 will become a wholly owned subsidiary, operating as before, and its management team will remain in place. Yamaha will acquire all capital stock of Line 6 owned by the founders, venture funds and employees.

Line 6 made its name pioneering the digital modeling guitar amplifier in 1996 and has expanded its range to include POD multi-effect processors, digital effects, guitar amplifiers, modeling guitars, a range of professional instrument and microphone digital wireless systems, digital live sound mixers, speakers, as well as iOS interfaces.
