New York, NY (December 9, 2013)—Acon Digital has updated its Restoration Suite for audio restoration to version 1.1, aiming to improve audio quality and usability while also tackling bug fixes.
Restoration Suite includes the plug-ins DeNoise for adaptive or fingerprint-based broadband noise reduction; DeHum to filter out hum and buzz noise; DeClick to remove typical pops and crackles from vinyl and 78 RPM recordings; and DeClip to reconstruct clipped peaks.
DeNoise reportedly now reduces broadband noise more effectively. The center frequency, bandwidth and filter slope of the current band is displayed as cursor information when modifying filter band settings in the emphasis filter editor. DeHum can now process up to 96 harmonics and passes the Audio Unit validation on OS X Mavericks (v10.9). DeClip also contains audio quality improvements and is said to be better at reconstructing high frequency content. Acon Digital Restoration Suite is available for both Windows (PC) and OS X (Macintosh); the plug-in formats VST and AU (OS X only) are supported.
