These four new additions will be unveiled at ProLight + Sound.

Port Perry, ON (March 12, 2019)—Adamson Systems Engineering will expand its S-Series sub-compact loudspeaker line at Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt, Germany with four new additions.

These include the S7 ultra-compact two-way, full-range line array enclosure; the accompanying S118 subwoofer; and its new S7p and S10p two-way, full-range point source cabinets. The new offerings are equally applicable for standalone S-Series systems in corporate, theatre, worship, and live music applications, as well as indeployments supporting Adamson’s flagship large-format E-Series.

The Adamson S7 is a two-way, full-range line array cabinet containing two ND7-LM16 Kevlar Neodymium drivers (2x 16 Ω) and an NH3-8 1.4” exit compression driver (8 Ω). The optimized sound chamber is said to produce a slightly curved wavefront with a nominal dispersion pattern of 100° x 12.5° (H x V), providing increased vertical dispersion. The cabinet also sports Adamson’s patented Controlled Summation Technology to tackle the low-mid lobing normally associated with two-way line source systems.

The S118 is a companion subwoofer to the S7, loaded with a lightweight, long excursion 18” ND18-S Kevlar Neodymium driver utilizing Adamson’s Advanced Cone Architecture and a 4” voice coil, all mounted in a front-loaded enclosure.

Both the S7 and S118 utilize Adamson’s SlideLock Rigging System, a suspension system that has been updated to eliminate the need for a stacking pin. A single technician can prep and fly an entire array, according to Adamson. Systems built around the S7 and S118 have already been deployed by the company’s partners in the U.S. and Canada, Sweden, Norway, France, Spain, Italy, the U.K., and China.

Meanwhile, the S7p and S10p are two-way, full-range point source cabinets containing two ND7-16 Low-Mid drivers (2x 16 Ω) and two ND10-LM Low-Mid drivers, respectively, and an NH3-8 1.4” exit compression driver (8 Ω) in both. Their prolate spheroidal waveguides produce a dispersion pattern of 70° x 40° (H x V), rotatable in 90° increments.

All Adamson cabinets are constructed out of marine-grade birch plywood, aircraft-grade steel and aluminum, and feature Speakon connectors. The S-Series is designed to be powered by the E-Rack, Adamson’s unified rack solution that incorporates Lab.gruppen amplification, industry standard power connections, and a 20-port managed Ethernet switch to route dual-redundant Dante and control signal.
