Allen & Heath Updates SQ Series Firmware

New York, NY (March 15, 2018)—Allen & Heath has introduced a major firmware update for its SQ digital mixer series, adding new expansion and advanced automatic mic mixing capabilities to the line.

Key to the new SQ V1.2 firmware is added support for the DX Hub, a hardware expansion hub which allows multiple DX168 stage box expanders to be connected to an SQ mixer. DX Hub enables SQ users to source 48 channels from the stage, all at 96 kHz, or to deploy up to eight portable expanders as required.

V1.2 adds two independent AMMs, based on the D-Classic algorithm. The AMMs are part of Allen & Heath’s DEEP processing system and are said to have no latency. SQ can handle two simultaneous meetings with up to 24 mics each, or the AMMs can combine to manage a single conference with up to 48 channels.
