Los Angeles, CA (September 29, 2016)—At AES, Rupert Neve Designs has announced the Shelford Channel, built around the pro audio designer’s first new transformer-gain, class A mic preamp in more than 40 years.
The new preamp design is complemented by the inductor EQ section in the company’s existing Shelford 5051 and Shelford 5052 modules.
The unit also features a new diode bridge compressor inspired by the 2254 with additional functionality.
Other features include a new dual-tap transformer output with high- and low-headroom outputs; variable Silk/Texture transformer saturation; and reportedly twice the operating voltage of Neve’s vintage modules.
The Shelford Channel will begin shipping in October 2016, with an MSRP of $3,995 USD.
