New York, NY (October 22, 2018)—At the AES Convention last week, Rupert Neve Designs unveiled its new 5211 Two Channel Microphone Preamplifier.
The unit is considered to be an update of Rupert Neve Designs’ first product, 2005’s 5012 Duo Mic Preamp, the new 5211.
Each channel has 72 dB of gain, sweepable high-pass filters, variable Silk output saturation, and dual-tap output transformers which provide both high-headroom and -6dB low-headroom outputs, allowing the user to fully drive the output stage without clipping converters and increasing the unit’s possible tonal variations.
The 5211 sports a 19” width, “Shelford”-style faceplate color, +/-21V rails and an internal auto-switching power supply. According to the company, the variable Silk circuit “saturates the class-A output stage to dial the harmonic content up to and beyond that of Rupert’s classic designs, while still providing the option of a pristine, open and modern sound when disengaged.”
The 5211 is shipping and has an MSRP of $1,995.00 US.
