New York, NY (October 19, 2017)—At this year’s AES Show, sE Electronics has unveiled two new microphones—an updated version of its sE2200 condenser, and the new V7 X, a dynamic microphone for instrumental applications.
The sE2200 offers the same handcrafted capsule, discrete class-A circuitry and custom transformer as the previous versions, but with reportedly improved clarity, lower noise, new pad and filter options to increase versatility, and a new finish in line with the company’s current designs. Nonetheless, the company states the mic retains its predecessors’ sound.
The V7 X sports a specialized capsule aluminum voice coil and acoustic design specifically tailored for instrumental use, with the aim of creating a lowered resonance and extended frequency response. The V7 X is intended for use on snares, toms, electric & acoustic guitars, brass instruments, and more.
Both new mics will ship within the U.S. next month November 2017, with a suggested retail price of $299 for the sE2200, and $129 USD for the V7 X.
