Las Vegas, NV (June 7, 2018)—Allen & Heath has debuted its new SQ-7 live sound console, based around a XCVI 96kHz FPGA engine and offering 33 faders, 32 onboard preamps, 16 custom soft keys and eight user-definable soft rotary controls.
SQ-7 is a 48-channel console; inputs and mixes can be individually assigned to 192 fader strips across six layers, while 16 softkeys and eight user-assignable soft rotary controls allow the mixer’s workflow to be customized.
Upcoming Dante, Waves and SLink audio networking cards will allow additional expansion.
The console’s SQ-Drive can create 96 kHz stereo and multitrack recordings, saving them to a USB drive, but the desk can also be attached via USB to become a plug ‘n play, Core Audio or ASIO compliant 32x32 audio interface.
The desk also offers two independent, integrated and assignable Automatic Mic Mixers, that can be combined to create a 48-channel AMM.
